Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A fine trio of hockey books for the taking, all signed by the subjects involved, beginning with Stan Fischler’s “Bobby Orr and the Big Bad Bruins” (1969), nicely signed on the inside page in black marker by Bobby Orr who writes “To Peter, Good luck always, Your friend, Bobby Orr”. The books remains in nice condition, although under the signature is handwritten in red pen as “April 9, 1970” and at the bottom in blue pen as “bought on April 9, 1970”. Markings from previous tape surround the signature and inscription and are on the inside cover as well, but doesn’t affect Bobby’s handwriting at all. Also to note is the inside title page which has Orr’s 1969-70 playoff stats handwritten in blue ink, and a few handwritten notations from an owner accompany the photos in the middle. From the 1990 book “Six Shooters – Hockey’s Sutter Brothers” sees all six Sutters Brian, Darryl, Duane, Brent, Rich and Ron signing in beautiful blue ballpoint pen. A beautiful 226-page hardcover (with dust jacket) in excellent condition. And finally, from HOF referee Red Storey (ind. 1967, dec. 2006) is his 1994 hardcover (with dust jacket) book in excellent condition titled “Red’s Story”, with a great signature from Red on the inside page in clear blue ink reading as “Best Wishes To Peter, Red Storey”.
