This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Very cool collection of 7 vintage hockey gems includes trimmed 1934-35 CCM photos of Frank Boucher, Charlie Conacher and Lorne Chabot, measuring appoximately 7 ½” x 10” and in very nice condition, with CCM skates – “Champions everywhere” printed below Conacher’s and Chabot’s. A postcard, postmarked 1934 and featuring Bill and Bun Cook and Frank Boucher, measures 3 ¾” 5 ¾”, addressed to a Winnipegger on the back, and advertises the 1935 NHL Guide in the text. The stamps have been mostly removed, and some wear on and around the edges are to note. There’s also a 1932 Team Canada postcard from the Lake Placid Olympics, measuring 3 ½” x 5 ½”and showing stains on the back, along with a handwritten name. Sugar Jim Henry’s 1945-64 Group Two Beehive has been signed in clear blue ink as “Best of luck, Sugar Jim Henry”, with the Bee Hive itself showing faint dirt, roughness on the edges, and a small hole at the top. And lastly, a great shot of the 1925 Coleman Tigers, a team from Southern Alberta’s Crowsnest Pass that played in the ASHL and who were the 1924-25 Alberta Senior Hockey champions. This team boasted 2-time Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup member Nick Wasnie in the lineup before he began his NHL career with Chicago. This cool picture that shows 5 players in hockey uniforms and the rest in street clothes measures approximately 8 ½” x 11” inside an 11 ½” x 13 ½” matte, with the photo in great condition and matte showing some dirt.
