Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Tremendously unique is this threesome of medals and team photo from Italian Roller Hockey Championships circa 1920s. The 3 medals, attached to slightly paled red, white, and blue ribbon, feature a gold-colored example measuring 1” in diameter with the raised image of 2 players on 1 side and “1929 Campionato Italiano Di Hockey Su Rotelle” on the other, while the middle gold-colored metal, measurinjg 1 ¼” in diameter, shows a goaltender on 1 side and an unidentified sculpted building on the other. The 3rd silver-colored metal measures approximately 1 ¼” in diameter and displays players in action on 1 side and a coat of arms and “Citta di Monza” on the reverse. Also included is a 7” x 9 ½” b&w picture of what possibly is the 1929 Italian champs, while on the accompanying matte is the photographer’s name etc. “Mansuino S. Remo”. On the back of the matte are 3 lines of handwriting (in Italian). Very curious items in good condition, with some slight tarnishing and darkening on the first “1929” example.
