Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Nice signed lot pertaining to the Toronto Maple Leafs, beginning with a limited-edition 607/3000 illustrated montage from artist Daniel Parry celebrating Leafs legends Johnny Bower, Bobby Baun, and Ron Ellis. This 19 ½” x 24” print on foam backboard, copyrighted in 1996 and titled “Glory Years”, shows Bower, Baun, and Ellis among jubilant teammates, along with the 3 in separate action poses, with each signing below in silver marker. Artist Parry’s signature is present as well. Next, a very cool photo on foam backboard of Bower jumping high in the air as the puck sails over the net, with the 11” x 14” photo housed in a white with blue trim matte measuring 18” x 21” overall. The matte, which shows faint areas of dirt, has been nicely by Bower who has added “Toronto Maple Leafs”. Also on foam backboard is a great action shot of Leafs defenceman Dave Ellett moving in on the Anaheim goal, with Ellet signing in clear black marker. From Leafs goaltender Curtis Joseph are 2 different 11” x 17” illustrations of him in mattes measuring 16” x 20”, with both pictures taped on the corners, which are unseen within the mattes (1 matte with 2 staples). A 3rd matte, signed by Joseph as well but without a picture, also measures 16” x 20” and shows small pinholes in the corners. Joining these are 5 signed (in blue marker) 8” x 10” photos from Gerry Cheevers (who played 2 games with the Leafs in 1961-62), Wilf Paiement (wearing his #99), Borje Salming, Teeder Kennedy, and Tiger Williams, plus a 7 ¼” x 10 ½” printed illustration of Darryl Sittler, signed in black marker, who has added “484 goals” to his name (some yellowing on the top edge and 1 pinhole).
