Eddie Shore is among the six deceased HOFers who autographed this 1935-36 Boston Bruins team-issued Nels Stewart game-issued stick. Shore, Tiny Thompson, Dit Clapper, Babe Siebert Cooney Weiland and Bill Cowley are among the 15 autographs – all but one in pencil – on this Northland Professional game-issued stick. It measures 63” from the toe of the blade to the top of the shaft with “1935-1936 Bruins” handwritten low on the shaft above the heel. “Stewart” and “”25 oz.” are stamped high on the front of the shaft, along with “Made by Northland Ski Mfg Co. St. Paul, Minn.” on both sides. Stewart scored 324 goals, an NHL record he held for 16 years until it was broken by Rocket Richard in 1952-53. Comes with a JSA LOA
Others who have signed the stick in pencil include Jack “Red” Beattie, who led the 1935-36 Bruins in scoring with 14 goals, 18 assists and 32 points, Jim “Peggy” O’Neill, Paul Runge, Charlie Sands, Roger Jenkins, Lorne Duguid, Max Kaminsky and Bruins trainer Win Green. Teddy Graham has signed in black ink below the two black stripes low on the shaft. Stewart spent the 1935-36 season with the New York Americans after playing three seasons in Boston, where he returned for 10 games in 1936-37. “Lie No. 10” is stamped on both sides of the shaft. A small “Neutral” stamp sits low on the front of the shaft and there are two tiny nails in the top edge of the blade towards the toe.
