Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A couple of cool, multi-signed photos to stir the senses with these 2 B&W images measuring 11” x 14” and chock full of household names from yesteryear. These photos, which were produced later on, include the iconic capturing of Bill Barilko’s overtime goal in the spring of 1951, beautifully signed in black marker by all participants on the ice except for Barilko, who died in a plane crash later that summer. Accompanying this is a great shot of the 1961-62 Leafs straddling the boards, with 16 of the 17 players (Tim Horton died in 1974). All signatures are clear and bold on both, with a ton of HOFers included, and with both in excellent condition aside from tiny pin holes in the corners of the ’61-62 example.
The Barilko photo includes HOFers Richard, Johnson, Bouchard, and Watson, plus Meeker, McNeil, and Gardner, while the ’61-62 Leafs who have signed include HOFers Armstrong, Stanley, Mahovlich, Duff, Kelly, Bower, Arbour, Keon (slight paling), Olmstead, and Pulford, plus Stewart, Nevin, Shack, Harris, Baun, and Litzenberger.
