Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

The great Howie Morenz would pass away on March 8, 1937 and the following fall, on Tuesday Nov. 2, 1937, a benefit game between the NHL All-Stars and a combination of Montreal Canadiens and Maroons was held at the Forum to benefit the Morenz family. Offered is an iconic program from that night, with 56 pages of tributes and featuring a lineup that included Shore, Horner, Conacher, Jackson, Day and Shriner against the likes of Joliat, Lepine, Blake, Beveridge, Ward, Gagnon, and so many others. In very fine condition with only a loose middle lineup page, some faint cover creasing, and a small tear on page 1 to note.
On this day, the NHL All-Stars would defeat the Montrealers 6-5, and young Howie Morenz Jr. would skate in the pre-game warmup and take shots on both goalies. A sensational, historic, and always desirable rare program offered in very nice condition.
