Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
The team that brought Wayne Gretzky to professional hockey, the Indianapolis Racers had a storied history in the WHA before the Great One made his debut. This awesome 1975-76 Racers gamer was worn by center Bob Sicinski, who recorded 43 points in 70 games in his second of three seasons with Indianapolis. Sicinski’s leadership is evidenced by the double twill alternate captain’s A sewn on the left breast of this tie-neck beauty with Rawlings size 46 tagging in the back of the collar. There is evidence of a former nameplate and the fight strap loop remains inside the back. Game wear includes board burns on the sleeves and a black mark on the bottom right of the Racers crest on the front. Comes with Bob Sicinski's signed LOA.
More use shows in wear to the black, blue, red and white twill team crest sewn on the front, marks on the front of the jersey and sweat stains at the left cuff. There is some pinkish color bleeding surrounding the A on the left breast and a small round light stain above the team crest. A few unrepaired holes on the left front and both sleeves do not diminish this wonderful WHA gamer’s display.
