Steve Yzerman, Ted Lindsay and Scotty Bowman are among the HOFers in the 47 black marker autographs on the framed matte surrounding a Detroit Red Wings Certificate of Appreciation presented to longtime team physician Dr. John Finley in 1997. Fellow HOFers Shanahan, Murphy and Fetisov are among the members of the 1996-97 Stanley Cup champions who have signed, including Fedorov and Lidstrom, and HOFers Delvecchio and Gadsby are among the Red Wings alumni. The frame measures 20” x 18” and comes with a polished glass award and a framed photo of the presentation of both pieces to Dr. Finley. A 1994 frame from the Red Wings Alumni is also included. Comes with Dr. John Finley’s signed LOA.
Multi-signed frame has a gold-colored plaque that reads, “Certificate of Appreciation presented to Dr. John Finley, D.O., for forty dedicated years of medical attention given to the Detroit Red Wings and their families. We extend to you our sincere gratitude and respect for keeping the Wings fit and flying, 1957-1997, Marian and Michael Ilitch, Owners, Detroit Red Wings, April 11, 1997.”
Members of the 1996-97 Stanley Cup champion Red Wings who have also signed include Draper, Vernon, Osgood, Rouse, Lapointe, Kozlov, Dandenault, Sandstrom, Ward, Pushor, Hodson, Maltby, McCarthy, Taylor, Murphy, among others. Old-timers who have signed also include Odgronick, Libett, Peters, Mio, Wilson, Foster, Boyer, Bergman and others.
“40 Dr. John Finley” glass award stands 10” tall. Presented to Dr. John Finley by the Red Wings Alumni.
Finley and his family are posed holding both awards with Sergei Fedorov and Red Wings owners Marian and Michael Ilitch in a 14” x 11” framed photo of the on-ice presentation ceremony.
The 1994 wood frame award to Dr. John Finley from the Red Wings alumni measures 12” x 8 1/2".
