A leather-bound edition is featured in this eclectic three-volume set of "The Trail of the Stanley Cup" written by hockey historian Charles L. Coleman and published by the NHL. Leather-bound Vol. 1, from the Cup's inception in 1893 to 1926, is number 449 of a set of 1,000. It was presented to Dr. John Finley and comes with its slipcase. Vol. 2 covers the boom and bust years on through World War II from 1927 to 1946. Vol. 3 covers the golden age of the Original Six from 1947 to 1967. An excellent set for research purposes. Comes with Dr. John Finley's signed LOA.
“Presented to Dr. John Finley with the compliments of The National Hockey League” reads the NHL scroll pasted inside the front cover of Vol. 1, which has a clear plastic jacket. The very bottom edge of the slipcase on the side with the gilded Stanley Cup illustration has torn away and hangs loose and there is a horizontal crease along the top of both sides of the slipcase.
Vol. 2 has its original jacket and has been very nicely preserved.
Vol. 3 has its plain brown original jacket. There are five small plastic bookmark taps attached to the bottom edge of pages.
