Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
This cool and classic circa mid-1970s Chicago Black Hawks game-worn jersey displays some great game wear that includes a number of team repairs. Wilson tagging sits in the back of the neck of this beauty with a vintage team crest on the front and tomahawk C patches on the shoulders. There is evidence of removed numbers on the back and both sleeves where new numbers “12” were added recently to the jersey to display it as a Pat Stapleton jersey. There is evidence of a former fight strap and the team repairs include a sewing fix on the left side of the collar and some nice black and white threadwork on two repairs low on the right sleeve, among others. More game wear includes board burns with red paint transfer on the front of the right shoulder.
There are some black marks on the front tail, board burns with red paint transfer on the hems, particularly at the left hip, and some more red paint transfer on a repaired burn hole on the left sleeve below the numbers.
