Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Seriously cool is this 1996 Team Players crew suit worn by crew member Mark Hunter when the team crewed for then-rookie Greg Moore, who would go on to become one of the most popular racers in IndyCar before losing his life in a crash at the California Speedway in 1999. Mark Hunter is the son of legendary Canadian country singer Tommy Hunter. The suit, made by Sparco, is a single layer nomex suit and is custom-sized, with it working out to be a size 56-58 (L-XL). It has all the 1996 sponsors embroidered on it, most notably "Players Ltd", with Players-crested suits being difficult to obtain and very few remaining, as tobacco laws and the teams required that the suits be destroyed at years end. This suit, tagged in the collar as "Sparco" with "Hunter" and the date "23/01/96" handwritten on, remains in excellent, issue-free condition.
