Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
From retired catcher and the man who came to the Montreal Expos in the blockbuster trade that sent the iconic and future HOFer Gary Carter to the Mets comes Mike Fitzgerald's game-worn Montreal Expos jersey donned during the 1987 season, a year that saw the Expos an extremely talented group and the best team in the National League from early summer on, but because they had started slowly, would finish 3rd. Tagged in the collar with a "Rawlings" and washing instructions patch and size "46", along with an adjoining "46T 87 1" patch, this gamer has no noticeable marks, alterations or wear, but shows evidence of having been washed. Fitzgerald would spend 7 seasons in Montreal before 1 final year with the California Angels in 1992.
