Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
When North American hockey fans had their eyes opened wide in 1972 by the amazing Soviets, much of the talk centered around Tretiak, Kharlamov, and Yakushev. But another Russian forward also made a strong and definitive impact, the pesky and multi-talented captain of the squad, Boris Mikhailov, who often drove the Canadian stars crazy with his high level of skill and sometimes infuriating on-ice tactics. We have a nice game-used Mikhailov stick, a wood "Montreal", with his original black tape on the blade and grey-taped handle. "Mikhailov" is stamped on the upper shaft, and a small scattering of marks line the gamer. Definitely a nice stick from one of the greatest stars of the former Soviet Union.
