Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Czech defenceman Jaroslav Benak, who, with his Czechoslovakian teammates, would capture silver at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, wore this gamer while playing for his Dukla Jihlava team in the Czech Elite League in the 1980s. With only a small washing instructions tag in the collar, this Benak gamer is simply awesome, an understated beauty, with the embroidered Dukla crest sewn on the front and "Benak" and number "6" on the back. The team crest and back number have some puckering, and a small amount of marks are scattered about, mostly on the yellow stripes on the hem and on both sleeves. Some paint transfer and board burns are noticeable on the right sleeve as well. Benak was drafted 211th overall by the Calgary Flames in 1983 but would remain in Europe.
