Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

The Panthers became Kirk McLean's third team in less than three months late in the 1997-98 season after first beginning his 11th season with Vancouver, then dealt to Carolina on January 3, and shipped to Florida on March 24. The Panthers' fifth season patch sits on the right breast of this distinctive game-worn jersey, while McLean's nameplate is sewn on in three pieces and there is evidence of a nameplate removal, meaning it was likely also used by Kevin Weekes before McLean, who appeared in seven games. Starter and size 58-G labels are sewn in the neck. Game wear is likely attributed to both McLean and Weekes, including a scattering of marks on the front and on both sleeves, along with substantial pilling on the front as well.
