Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Excellent matching of pieces from the ultra-talented Sergei Fedorov, simply one of the best of his day, a man who could play both forward or defence, and one who first began to tear things up as a junior on a line with Pavel Bure and Alex Mogilny. Fedorov would average almost a point a game in the NHL (1179 in 1248), playing 13 seasons with Detroit, 2 with Anaheim, almost 3 in Columbus, and just over 1 season with Washington. We have a game-used stick and a pair of game-worn gloves from the great Russian, with the graphite stick being an Easton Ultra-Light (with wood Christian blade) that features his original white tape on the blade and knob, and a handwritten “91” just below the knob. Numerous marks cover the white tape on the crack-free blade, with a scattering of marks making their way up the shaft. Fedorov’s red Cooper game-worn gloves feature his signature in clear and bold black marker on each cuff, and contain no palm holes, with various marks scattered about each, and have that nice used look on the palms. All in all, a tremendously fine example of game-used items from one of the early and classy Russian stars who would collect 3 Stanley Cups, a Hart Trophy, and a Frank J. Selke Trophy during his outstanding career.
