Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Love what enforcer (and valuable player) Marty McSorley wrote in black marker on the top of his game-worn L.A. Kings helmet: "To Bill, If this doesn't protect you, I will. Friends, Marty McSorley". Yes indeed, a gamer from McSorley, who also protected his buddy Wayne Gretzky while wearing this Jofa helmet plastered with four "Kings" decals and McSorley's number "33". The helmet shows good condition with the usual scratches and nicks obtained during ice wars, and with the chin strap and basic padding all intact and complete, although when we say "basic" we mean it, as helmets have come a long way since then. McSorley's handwriting to Bill is clear, with some of the letters and words worn off slightly. All in all, a lid to love.
