Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Winning the Stanley Cup in the spring of 2000 was certainly an emotional ride for the New Jersey Devils. It had been tough sledding after winning in '95, missing the playoffs the following year and suffering through first-round exits in two of their next three post-seasons. But in 2000 they climbed back from a 3-1 deficit against Philadelphia, and then in game six of the Finals against Dallas, ended it in double overtime. Acquired directly from talented Devils forward Sergei Nemchinov is his game-worn jersey from that 2000 Cup Finals, tagged in the collar as a size "56" and featuring the "NHL 2000" and "2000 Stanley Cup" patches sewn on the right breast. A team repair is on the left shoulder, marks are scattered about the front and on both sleeves, and the gamer shows some puckering on the crest and name and numbers. Screened on the inside hem is the Devils "2nd Set 1999-00" and "NHL 2000" labels.
