Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Amazing offering of not one but three New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup Championship rings belonging to noted hockey writer and broadcaster Stan Fischler, a man with a New York-area hockey resume a mile long. From 1995, when the Devils swept the Detroit Red Wings to win their first-ever Stanley Cup is Fischler's gorgeous 14 karat gold, size 8 ring filled with real diamonds on the face, featuring the raised image of the Stanley Cup on one shank surrounded by "New Jersey Devils, 1995" and more, while the other shank shows the Devils' log, with "Fischler" and "TV". Fischler's ring from the 2000 Cup win is a size 7 3/4, 14K white gold bauble, with the face filled with diamonds behind the Devils' logo, and with "New Jersey Devils" and the Stanley Cup, (with "2000") on one shank and "Fischler" and "TV" and the image of 2 Cups on the other. Finally, from the Devils third and last Cup in 2003, we have a tremendously beautiful Cup ring from Fischler, a size 8, marked as 10 karat, and weighing approximately 45 grams, filled with diamonds on the face with the Devils log in red stones, flanked by "Stanley Cup Champions". One shank shows the raised image of 3 Cups, along with "New Jersey Devils", while the other shank features "Fischler, 2003 Stanley Cup, TV", plus the dates of the previous Cup wins. What an opportunity to scoop up the franchise's three Stanley Cup rings, and comes with the personalized "Stan Fischler" display box for the 2003 ring, plus a Certificate of Appraisal from Intergold Ltd for the 2003 ring, and an LOA from Mr. Fischler. Just a mind-blowing opportunity here. The 1995 beauty is approximately 45 grams and displays very light scratching and nicking and is in tremendous overall condition, while the 2000 ring, weighing approximately 52 grams, is in pristine condition, with just the slightest traces of handling seen through a magnifying glass. The 2003 ring is also in stunning and pristine condition, making it easy to say that we don’t see rings any nicer. A glorious threesome indeed.
