Simply wonderful ensemble from 1934-35 centering around British Consols/Brier cigarette cards that were inserted into each pack with printed game scores one must match to win a free deck of British Consols Playing Cards. Offered here are 43 of the mail-in score cards (1 3/8" x 2 5/8"), with all but one in sensational condition, along with the all-important full deck of British Consols playing cards (which show some handling), plus a 6" x 9 1/2" British Consols contest form on one side and 1932-33 NHL schedule on the reverse, along with a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" NHL prize coupon from BC, a 4" x 5" T & Y Mercantile/Maple Leaf Gardens schedule, a typed letter from British Consols (8" x 10 1/2") from 1935 mentioning upcoming Mercantile games and broadcaster Foster Hewitt, and the original letter envelope. Wow! It is assumed that a complete deck of 52 playing cards were issued to those matching scores, however it is unknown if they referred to different games on each and every card. Regardless, just a great collection of blasts from the past.
