Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Seldom-surfacing are pictures like these, obtained through a mail-in promotion and offered in the forever-popular Hockey Blueline magazine of the 1950s. The semi-gloss affairs are on thin card stock measuring 8-3/4" by just under 12" and highlighted by an image of the legendary Howie Morenz, posing for famous Montreal photographer James Rice. Morenz's son-in-law, Boom Boom Geoffrion, along with Andy Bathgate and Bill Gadsby are other Hall-of-Famers, while completing the group are Al Rollins, Red Sullivan, Benny Woit and Nick Mickoski of Chicago, and New York's Ivan Irwin. Light corner/peripheral creases/wear is to mention but no unsightly creasing or other flaws – these are in nice collectible condition.
