Nice official Art Ross Tyer game puck from the first period of game 1 of the opening round series between the AHL Cleveland Barons and Buffalo Bisons on March 20, 1951, a game that saw the Barons edge the Bisons 4-3 in overtime. Aside from some chips out of the edges and a few scuffs, this puck is in good shape with both crests clear and completely legible. Handwritten on the front crest is "Game 1 of playoffs 1951 – 1st period Cleveland 4 Buffalo 3". This particular style of Art Ross puck was used in the pros from 1950 to 1958. The Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League would win it all in the spring of 1951, hoisting the Calder Cup after outlasting the Pittsburgh Hornets in a 7-game final series. But the Barons first had to get by others, including the Buffalo Bisons in their opening round, the series this puck came from, with the Barons ending up sweeping Buffalo in 4 games.
