Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Wondrous wool worn back in 1951 by Roddy Houston as a member of the Melbourne Demons of the professional Victorian Hockey League (IHV) down under. The crest of the storied franchise displays a devil with his trident on a circular felt patch. "Demons" arches across the back in creamy felt above the player number. The uniform, sporting the "3" is bright and colourful and has been well-preserved with about a half-dozen smaller unrepaired holes. The Demons Ice Hockey Club has a proud history dating back over 70 years. From the club's original beginnings in 1943 through to today, little has changed with respect to the passion for the game the Demon's members and club officials maintain. A player of note for this squad was Russell Anderson Jones who played for the Australian national team during the 1960 Winter Olympics and also competed in the 1962 World Ice Hockey Championships.
