Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
The U.S. would win the historic 1996 World Cup in the 3-game finals against Canada, but it was future HOFer Steve Yzerman (inducted 2009) who would give Canada a 1-game lead with his overtime goal that beat U.S. goaltender and tournament MVP Mike Richter. Stevie Y would also notch a big goal against Slovakia earlier in the tournament. Offered are Yzerman's game-used gloves from the big tourney, a nice black pair of VIC 950 CoolMax gamers, which exhibit light game wear, with "Yzerman" embroidered in white on each cuff, along with the star signing his name in gold marker on both cuffs. (To note – the signature on the left glove is clear and bold, while the sig on the right glove has some pale areas). Awesome gamers from a legendary player.
