Nice grouping of Gordie Howe/Detroit Red Wings photos and other miscellaneous items totaling 67, with Mr. Hockey having signed 4 pictures, including 1 with his 2 sons Mark and Marty adding their sigs also. Others among the 20 Howe items are a couple of nice Eaton's 8" x 10" pics (1 signed), a 32-page "545" book (1946-1964), a total of 9 vintage Howe-related magazines, a couple of photos, and a French-language 91-page "Le Hockey par Gordie Howe" hardcover book from 1963 with its shipping case. We also have a Red Wings pennant from 1961-62 (29"), a 97-page 1979-80 Wings fact book, 7 vintage Wings photos, 19-1970s players team-issued pictures, 18 photos printed in the 1970s/1980s of older Wings players, and a couple of Wings envelopes some of the photos came in. Howe’s signatures are found on a 3 ¼” x 5 ½” JD McCarthy postcard, nicely signed in blue ink as “Best Wishes Gordon Howe”, a 3 ½” x 5 ½” Eaton’s card signed as “To Bob, Gordon Howe” in blue marker, an 8” x 10” Eaton’s picture is signed in blue ink, and the shot of Gordie and sons in Houston Aeros uniforms have Gordie and Mark signing in red ink and Marty in blue ink. The ’61-’62 Wings pennant has some creasing and some yellow aging to note, and includes the Wings lineup from that year attached to the back. The ‘79-‘80 Wings guide measures 5” x 8”, is complete with 97 unmarked and undamaged pages, although some age yellowing has occurred along its edges. The 18 photos printed in the 1970s measure 8” x 10” (except for 1 at 8 ½” x 11 ¼”) and have the players’ names handwritten on the back. Yellowing and some slight water damage on a few are to note, and the lot includes players such as Syd Howe, Ted Lindsay and Larry Aurie. We have 7 vintage B&W glossies, with 6 measuring 8” x 10” and includes a great shot of Terry Sawchuk in his mask and 1 of GM Jack Adams, plus a 5” x 7’ Turofsky-stamped photo of Bill Dineen (with some creasing and a small tear on the top edge). And capping it off are 19 colored team-issued pictures from the 1970s and include the likes of Marcel Dionne, Alex Delvecchio, Mickey Redmond, Garnet Bailey, Red Berenson and others. The names have been handwritten on the back, and all are in very nice condition.
