Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
A fantastic find for Maple Leafs collectors, this vintage stand-up display was printed on thick cardboard and depicts the 1931-32 Stanley Cup champion team in a photo montage. The team's players and executives are all identified by a facsimile autograph and their position or title. Smythe, Selke, Irvin, Chabot, Clancy, Horner, Day, Bailey, Finnigan, Jackson, Primeau, Conacher, they're all there with the rest of the first Maple Leafs championship team! This remarkable "Vi-Tone" food-tonic-beverage photo display is a very rare and historic piece of hockey memorabilia. It is stamped on the reverse by the Super Art Company of Toronto and the fold-out stand remains intact. A horizontal crease runs through the top of the 12" x 13 1/2" display and though it exhibits a few more light creases, pinholes and some rough edges, it has been well preserved overall. A wonderful and rare first Maple Leafs Stanley Cup display!
