This Pete Mahovlich team-issued stick was sanded down on one side and filled with 22 signatures from a team on the cusp of greatness, the 1975-76 Habs. HOFers Lafleur, Shutt, Cournoyer, Lemaire, Savard, Robinson, and Dryden are among those who have penned their names in perfectly legible blue ballpoint pen on this unused Sher-Wood twig with "Mahovlich P" stamped on the upper shaft, and 13 other players and 2 trainers have also added their John Henrys. An awesome memento from a team that won its 1st of 4 straight Stanley Cups. Comes complete with a Classic LOA. Trainers Pierre Meilleur and Eddie Palchak (deceased 2011) are among the men whose autographs you’ll find here, along with Pete Mahovlich, Lambert, Risebrough, Wilson, Jarvis, Tremblay, Roberts, Van Boxmeer, Bouchard, Awrey, Chartraw, Nyrop, and Michel “Bunny” Larocque (deceased 1992). This was the squad that played Red Army on Dec. 31, 1975, a 3-3 tie which many believe to be one of the greatest games ever played, a game that saw the Canadiens outshoot the Soviets 38-13 but ran up against the mastery of Russian goalie Vladislav Tretiak. And as far as the full-season stats go, Guy Lafleur led the team that year with 56 goals and 69 assists for 125 points, followed by big Pete with 105 points. Steve Shutt would add 45 goals, while Ken Dryden would capture the Vezina.
