It was while a member of the AHL Springfield Kings in 1971 that Butch Goring and future Islanders teammate Billy Smith would raise the Calder Cup when the L.A. Kings affiliate would run ragged over the Providence Reds in four straight games to win it all. Offered is Goring's gorgeous Calder Cup-winning ring, with the words "Calder Cup Championship" on the face surrounding the beautiful purple emerald, a raised image of the Calder Cup is on one shank, with "1971" above it, while the other shank features the "Crown" emblem and "Springfield Kings" above. Inscribed on the inner band is "John Roberts 10K", along with Goring's initials "RTG". Only a few simple scratches inside the band are to note, with this 40-plus year old beauty remaining in wonderful condition. Comes with an LOA from Mr. Goring. Goring played parts of two seasons for the Kings in 1970 and 1971, bouncing back and forth between Los Angeles and their AHL Springfield affiliate. He had a very successful season in Springfield in 1971, leading the league in playoff goals, assists and points
