Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Former Russian national team head coach Vyacheslav Bykov wore this Team Russia game-worn captain's jersey at the 1995 IIHF world championships in Sweden. Bykov played for the CCCP in the 1987 Canada Cup and won Olympic gold in 1988 and 1992. Our consignor obtained Bykov's Russia light mesh gamer when he was working for the IIHF and charged with collecting game-worn jerseys from each participating team. Everything other than the Warsteiner sponsor's patches sewn on each sleeve is sublimated, including the captain's K, logos, surname and numbers. "Official World Hockey Championships Stockholm/Gavle 1995" patch is screened inside the rear hem. Measures out to a size 54 with the Tackla logo screened on the left rear tail. The jersey has some red discoloration on the sleeves and rear tail and an area on the top front of the right sleeve at the shoulder seam where the blue and red stripes have bled where the jersey was creased together.
