Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

Desirable first edition of golfing legend Bobby Jones' third book on the sport is of course made more so thanks to the blue ballpoint signature that appears on the title page of "Bobby Jones on Golf." Obviously penned in Jones' twilight before heading to the heavens above, it is personalized "Don Smith - Best Regards, Bob Jones." Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Jones, who died in 1971, was a lawyer by profession and competed as an amateur golfer throughout his entire career, dominating competitive golf in the 1920s. He won the U.S. Open four times and the British Open three. He retired in 1930 at the age of 28 after completing a Grand Slam that year by claiming the British and U.S. Amateur titles in addition to both the British and U.S. Open tournaments. Jones was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame posthumously in 1974. With a worn/torn dust jacket, the 246-page hardcover edition is a fabulous find and will be accompanied by an LOA.
