Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Pair of signed boxing contracts feature the original signatures of both combatants in the 1966 bout between Canadian heavyweight George Chuvalo and Dick Whipperman. Both boxing contracts are single-page, legal size documents. Chuvalo, who won the October 12 fight by TKO, has signed in blue ballpoint and manager Irving Ungerman has signed beneath him. One of the famous Rougeau brothers, either Johnny or Jacques Sr., has signed above them. Chuvalo was to be paid $2,500 or 35 percent of the Paul Sauve Arena gate. Wipperman, who has signed along with the same Rougeau brother, was to be paid $1,000 according to his contract. Clean historical boxing documents, each with three expected horizontal fold creases.
