Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
A terrific piece of racing memorabilia and a fabulous opportunity for racing enthusiasts is this thick suit donned by Michael Andretti towards the end of his career on the CART circuit, during the weekend of the Shell Grand Prix of Denver as a member of Team Motorola. Andretti started in 17th spot and because of a lack of yellow flags, was unable to make considerable gains, with his #39 Honda finishing 13th. "Denver, 2002" is indeed embroidered at the top of the left pocket, with Andretti's name and an American flag embroidered into the Velcro-fastened belt. At the left breast near the big Motorola logo crest is where Michael applied a nice big blue sharpie autograph, enhancing the predominantly red, white and blue gear. It will be accompanied by an LOA from WalkAbout Sports and an 8x10 printed photo of Andretti wearing the suit (at a different race).
