A look back at Montreal Expos history here with two Manager's Contracts, one a two-year deal (1980, '81) involving Dick Williams and the other inked by Jim Fanning for 1982. Williams received $125,000 total for the two seasons and also signed "Richard Hirschfeld Williams" on a $15,000 loan agreement, while Fanning earned $80,000 in '82. Both contracts are also signed by Expos president John McHale and long-time NL president Charles Feeney. They also signed triple-fold six-page 1982 contracts for pitcher David Palmer, ($115,000) and up-and-coming pitcher Bryn Smith, ($20,000, but with several clauses regarding his possible time in the big leagues). Nifty, intriguing documents!
