Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Major league baseball truly became an international game on August 14, 1968 when the National League awarded an expansion franchise to Montreal. The birthdate of the Expos is stamped on the sweet spot of this scarce and very special commemorative baseball. This rare Spalding Official NL baseball, an example with a few stains that was likely given to members of the press, displays the facsimile signature of league president Warren Giles on the opposite sweet spot. Included is an unmarked 1969 Expos pocket schedule from their inaugural season with a vertical crease on the O'Keefe ad on the back cover along with a clean 1975 pocket schedule.
