Montreal Expos team-signed 1974 and 1989 baseballs, ex-Barry Halper Collection, are featured in this lot of nine balls autographed in ballpoint by various editions of the former National League team. Deceased greats Gary Carter and Dick Williams, fellow HOFers Andre Dawson, Tony Perez and Frank Robinson, and baseball legend Pete Rose are among the autographs featured on these 9 team-signed Expos baseballs. Vladimir Guerrero, Raines, Rogers and Wallach signatures are also featured with the 1978, 1979, 1984 (2), 1996, 1999 and 2003 Expos also represented. The 1974 and 1989 Expos team-signed baseballs come with respective Sothebys LOAs. 1974 “Official League Ball” with 14 Expos autographs including Davis, Rogers, Bailey, Renko (2), DeMola, Day, Lyttle, Cox, Tom Walker, Ernie McAnally, Montague, Zimmerman and Hriniak. Toning on baseball and variations in ballpoint inks;
1989 Rawlings NL Giamatti baseball signed by 24, including Langston, Raines, Dennis Martinez, Wallach, Buck Rodgers, Perez, Brooks, Galarraga, Smith, Burke, Gross, Owen, Foley, Garcia, Dave Martinez, Nixon and Hudler, among others. Very clean baseball with bold autographs in a variety of ballpoint inks;
1978 Rawlings NL Feeney ball signed by 26 including deceased greats Gary Carter and Dick Williams, fellow HOFers Andre Dawson and Tony Perez, and 20-game winner Ross Grimsley, as well as Rogers, Valentine, Parrish, Cash, Speier, Frias, Schatzeder, May, Bahnsen (2), Holdsworth, Unser, Papi, Brewer, Gardner, Sherry, Virgil and Vernon, among others. Ball exhibits toning, a few tiny stains, and mostly bold signatures, including Williams, Perez and Grimsley, in a variety of ballpoint inks.
1979 Rawlings NL Feeney ball signed by 16 including deceased greats Gary Carter and Dick Williams and fellow HOFers Andre Dawson and Tony Perez, as well as Grimsley, May, Schatzeder, Fryman, Bahnsen, Hutton, White, Solaita, Felipe Alou, Brewer, Sherry and Virgil. Ball exhibits toning and autographs are blue ballpoint aside from Carter, May and Williams, whose black ink autograph on the sweet spot displays some light reddish bleeding,
1984 Rawlings NL Feeney ball is signed by 22 including baseball legend Pete Rose, the late Gary Carter and fellow HOFer Andre Dawson, as well as Raines, Wallach, Rogers, Gullickson, Reardon, McGaffigan, Speier, Little, Thomas, Flynn, DeMars and manager Bill Virdon, among others. A Global Certified Authentic sticker is applied to this Expos team-signed baseball which has grayish toning and displays nice blue ballpoint autographs;
1984 Rawlings NL Feeney ball is signed by 27 including the late Gary Carter, fellow HOFer Andre Dawson and baseball legend Pete Rose, as well as Wallach, Rogers, Speier, Lea, Reardon, Palmer, Thomas, Stenhouse, Alou and DeMars, among others. Rose’s is among the bold blue ink autographs. The Carter, Dawson, Rogers, Wallach and Lea black ink autographs are faded though clearly legible. The ball displays some stains, notably around the blank sweet spot;
1996 Rawlings NL Coleman ball signed by 14 including first-year Vladimir Guerrero, Moises Alou, White, Lansing and Urbina. Blue ink autographs are lightly faded and the ball exhibits some toning, small stains, scuffing/smudging of factory stamps;
1999 Rawlings NL Coleman ball signed by 15 including Vladimir and Wilton Guerrero, Pavano, Hermanson, Urbina and Lilly, among others. Clean ball with bold, black ink autographs;
2003 Rawlings MLB Selig ball signed by 29 including Vladimir Guerrero and HOFer Frank Robinson, as well as Vazquez, Barrett and Biddle, among others. Very clean baseball with bold blue ink autographs.
