Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Signed Gary Carter pieces include the late HOF catcher's autographed early-1980s Expos game-used bat and, ex-Barry Halper collection, his 199th home run ball, which Gary slammed off the Mets' Ron Darling in the first game of a doubleheader at Olympic Stadium on June 9, 1984. He added his 200th in the second game. Blue ballpoint autograph sits on the sweet spot of the Rawlings official NL Feeney baseball which has "Home Run No 199" notation and comes along with a Sotheby's LOA. Gary placed a big, bold black marker autograph to the left of his facsimile signature seared into the barrel of his Louisville Slugger P89 game-used bat. Gary's number "8" is handwritten in black marker on the knob. Nice wear on the handle with spots of pine-tar residue.
