Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Intriguing and varied group of signed items stars two Hall of Fame hurlers who need very little introduction, Don Drysdale and Bob Gibson, whose autographs each total eight. The Dodger legend's gorgeous penmanship is on two colour 8" by 10"s, with "My Best Wishes" preceding his sig on a black and white repro photo of him with Brooklyn. There are then five one-page documents regarding 1980s golf tournaments, three of them USGA affairs with Don agreeing not to accept any prize money to protect his amateur status! A 7" by 9" UPI photo of Gibson, dated "3/62" leads the Cardinal ace's ensemble, with a ($200) 1963 check endorsed on the back, an index card, a Hall of Fame postcard and a signed magazine photo joining two signed documents; ad agreements with General Electric. Finally, a framed poster, (18" x 23"), has fold lines and moisture damage, but like everything else, a first-rate autograph.
