Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
With one of the most distinctive swings in baseball history, Mel Ott stepped up with his right leg and belted 511 home runs, a National League record when he ended his HOF career with the New York Giants. Renowned sports artist Dick Perez has signed beneath the sketch-like rendering of Ott's batting stance displayed in the left foreground of his superb and colorful portrait of Mel in his Giants uniform. Tastefully displayed under glass in a 23 1/4" x 18 1/2" wood frame, this magnificent and essentially pristine watercolor-on-board Perez original painting displays to a size of 19 3/4" x 14 3/4" within a white and blue double matte, and it comes with a copy of a Perez-Steele Galleries invoice dated November 1980.
