The Blue Jays produced this distinctive "40 Homers" gold and diamond ring for Jesse Barfield and presented it to their All-Star right fielder to commemorate his monster 1986 season. Jesse batted .289 and drove in 108 runs in addition to leading the majors with 40 home runs. A total of 17 diamonds are set in the "40" on the tableau with "Toronto Blue Jays 1986 Home Run Champ" around the bezel. Jesse's name appears in raised gold on the right shank, and his average and RBIs on the left. Size-9 gold ring has a total weight of about 25 grams. Unique baseball ring has been nicely preserved, with a couple of nicks on the upper edge of the bezel and surface scratches on the back side of the band from proud wear.[red] Addendum; Included with the ring is a vintage copy of an appraisal done in 1990, giving the details of the ring, as well as a short handwritten letter from the dealer who originally sold the ring to our consignor.[/red]
