This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Fabulous bauble from the 1972 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Atlanta was presented to HOF Canadian pitcher Ferguson Jenkins. The Chicago Cubs' ace went to his third ASG, though he did not pitch in the National League's 4-3 extra-innings win at Fulton County Stadium on July 25. Fergie's initials and the date of the game are engraved inside the size 6 1/2 band, which has "14K", "O-S" and "LX" stamped on it as well. With a synthetic star sapphire set on the face, the ring weighs about 20 grams, with "All Star 1972" is stamped on one shank with the MLB logo stamped on the other. Nicely preserved overall with surface scratches and nicks from proud wear.
