Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Fun array of old goodies offered here dates all the way back to a 1936-37 Who’s Who guide which followed by an Official NHL Annual from ’45-46. The latter includes fabulous full-page photos and statistics, with both in handled G condition with notes added to some pages. Just photos with captions are in a ’48-49 Hockey Album with Ted Kennedy on the cover, with another copy having had most of its pages removed. Some seldom-seen shots in it, with a nice team photo of the ’47-48 Stanley Cup champion Maple Leafs on the back covers. Intriguing reading and swell player profiles are in “The Hockey Scene”, a 1951 publication, also in handled, lesser condition. A circa-1957 Bruins glossy team photo is crease-free and joined by a VG group shot of the ’57-58 Black Hawks with rookie Bobby Hull. An oversized NM postcard, (5-1/2” x 7”), pictures Canada’s National Team in ’66-67 and is autographed on the back by player-coach Marshall Johnston, Bill MacMillan, Danny O’Shea, Fran Huck, goalie Ken Broderick and 13 others. From an insurance company in the 1970s are five 11” by 14” (EX) pictures on paper stock featuring Montreal Canadiens Dryden, Lafleur, Cournoyer, Shutt and Pete Mahovlich, while circa-1980 Canadiens postcards include 23 with red backgrounds and 26 with blue backgrounds. Condition is EX, with an 8” by 10” VG+ photo of Canada’s team at the 1981 Canada Cup completing the neat ensemble.
