Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
The late, great Ted “Teeder” Kennedy has signed the vintage brown leather hockey glove featured in this lot of 3 items evoking the golden age of the Original Six. The Maple Leafs’ legendary captain (HOF 1966, d. 2009) signed in black on the knuckles of this left glove which happens to be a “Kennedy” brand, not one of Teeder’s game-used gloves. A vintage blue ceramic “Royal Visit Hockey Game” coffee mug features crossed hockey sticks and a puck on one side, with “Canadiens vs Rangers” on the other side along with the date of the game, “Oct. 29 – 1951”, along the bottom. A chip on the lip of that side has a thin crack running down vertically to note, otherwise it is whole and complete. Rounding out this lot is an original first edition of the Turofksy & Reeves 1960 “Sports Seen” book of action photos from the world of sports, including a number of iconic hockey shots.
