Fantastic mid-1930s NHL memories are stored in images and words collected in this vintage hockey scrapbook. A color illustration of a Montreal Maroons player is pasted on the cover of this jam-packed ode mostly to the 1935-36 season which is filled with period clippings of photos, caricatures, stories, statistics, and more about the league’s teams. Detroit Red Wings enthusiasts will delight in the images of Motown’s first Stanley Cup win while Toronto Maple Leafs collectors have a treasure trove of items on the 1930s powerhouse teams that were perennial Cup finalists. In addition to the Maroons, the long-lost New York Americans are also featured along with the 1934-35 St. Louis Eagles among the defunct teams, while the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Chicago Black Hawks and Montreal Canadiens all have their place within these almost entirely filled 108 pages. Bee-Hive and GM Hockey Broadcast ads are included, accounts of Howie Morenz’s trade from the Black Hawks to the Rangers, the longest overtime game in NHL history between the Red Wings and the Maroons, these are just some of the items to discover within this fantastic fan’s scrapbook that takes us back over 75 years into the NHL’s past. Also included is a well-handled issue of the August 1968 edition of the Hockey News.
