Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
We have to admit that we come up with some pretty cool and unusual pieces of hockey memorabilia. Here’s a beauty, a piece of the famously massive Barton pipe organ from the old Chicago Stadium. Remember the Roar, indeed! Offered is a pipe organ relay panel that was removed from the beloved original Madhouse on Madison in 1995 prior to the building’s demolition. Although the majority of the pipe organ’s working parts were saved and sold to a private collector in Las Vegas, these parts were not re-used due to outdated circuitry. This particular relay panel measures approximately 3 1/2" x 26” and all of the text on the panel is original and handwritten in what appears to be fountain pen black ink. This unique piece would look great mounted and framed with the included brass-plated Barton nameplate. Rarely-seen and distinctive memento from historic Chicago Stadium will make a welcome addition to any Chicago Stadium or Blackhawks enthusiast’s collection.
