Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Fabulous find here is indeed a rink relic, with our consignor informing that his grandfather was the original owner, the latter living his entire life in Calgary where he attended Tigers' games! Members of the Big Four League, WCHL and Prairie Hockey League from 1920-27, the Tigers featured the likes of HOFers Herb Gardiner, Red Dutton, Harry Oliver, Barney Stanley and Rusty Crawford and lost to Howie Morenz and the Canadiens in the 1924 Stanley Cup finals. Museum-worthy pennant is 24" in length, with the black felt letters sewn-on and further condition details on our website. The image of the tiger has remarkably survived in outstanding condition, while seldom-seen, long 8" tassels are still present on the lower section but missing up above. A one-inch tear/hole in the upper corner, a small hole near the base of the "T" and two holes near the tip are to mention, but overall, what a magnificent display piece.
