Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

Intriguing relic here brings forth the story of the Akron, Ohio Clippers, one-year wonders who played in the Michigan-Ontario senior amateur loop which folded following the 1941-42 campaign after a 10-year existence. Well-worn red leather jacket is attributed to Eveleth, Minnesota-born Ken Lundberg who went on to play for the Boston Olympics and U.S. Coast Guard Cutters, and is highlighted by a fabulous chenille team crest and nice shoulder patches. A tag in the tattered lining reads "Tool Shop Co. - Detroit - Finer Sporting Goods" while the stretchy striped waist is not frayed, contrary to the similar cuffs and collar. Significant wear to the red leather is to note, with a 2-inch hole near the left cuff.
