Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

NHL defenseman Noel Picard enjoyed some senior hockey success on his road to the big leagues. Offered here is Noel's 1961-62 Montreal Olympics jacket, a team-signed game-used stick and a 1961-62 "tabatiere" Olympiques trophy, among other souvenirs of the 1962 Allan Cup finalists including both of his goal pucks from the tournament final. The bright red team jacket with a Beaver patch on the left sleeve features a chenille Olympics logo crest on the right breast and a Quebec AHA 1962 champions patch on the left breast. Murray Randolph manufacturers label remains sewn onto the inner lining, which has torn away at the top in the back of the neck. Button front jacket measures out to roughly a size 50. Cool lot with a few more surprises! Tabatiere trophy features detailed wooden tobacco holder and ashtray holder along with a hockey player statue and a French plaque that reads Montreal Olympics players, Champions 1961-62;
The team-signed Sherbrooke game-used stick is likely Picard’s. It displays pale but legible autographs on one side of the shaft, including Roger Picard who joined the Olympics only for the Allan Cup playoffs;
Noel has signed a pair of “Jos. Choquette” souvenir mini sticks;
Three other pucks include one he scored for the Habs in a 1965 exhibition game.
