The 1953 NHL All Star Game, played October 3rd of that year at the Montreal Forum, saw the defending Cup champion Montreal Canadiens face off against an All Star team loaded with Detroit Red Wings players. The Wings would finish atop the League in 1953-54, and go on to beat the Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final. Wally Hergesheimer of the New York Rangers scored two goals on the same 1st period power play to give the All Stars an early 2-0 lead. Maurice Richard then beat All Stars goalie Terry Sawchuk in the 3rd period to make it close, but the All Stars prevailed 3-1. The program is in sharp Ex+ condition, and autographed inside in vintage ink by 10 All Stars, including HOF'ers Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio, Ted Lindsay, Bill Mosienko and Canadiens coach Dick Irvin.
