Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Here's a rarely seen program from the second ever NHL All Star Game, played on November 3rd, 1948 at Chicago Stadium between the Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs and a team of All Stars from the other five teams. All four goals were scored in the second period as the All Stars, on markers by Ted Lindsay, Woodie Dumart and Gaye Stewart, rolled over the Leafs by a 3-1 score. While the Cup champion Leafs were a strong club, the All Star squad was one of the finest groups ever assembled, with 14 of the 18 players selected being future Hockey Hall of Famers, including Maurice Richard, Milt Schmidt, Bill Durnan and a young player making his very first of 23 All Star Game appearances - Gordie Howe. The program is complete and in nice Ex to Ex+ condition, with a light center crease.
